Located in Nottingham, British Gypsum appointed us to renovate the existing CSC office space. The 3000 sq ft office was outdated, lacking the personality and functionality needed to foster a collaborative environment. The brief was to enhance the space, focusing on areas for collaboration. In addition to creating these new spaces, our designers aimed to introduce a fresh aesthetic for the staff. We incorporated soft ashy wooden tones mixed with cool blue hues to cultivate calming environments where employees could unwind when stepping away from their desks. Recognising these challenges, our team began to redesign the office to better suit these needs for the CSC team. Our fitout team completed the project within an impressive six-week timeline just before the Christmas break, ready for the employees to be welcomed back after the New Year.
The new design focuses on fostering collaboration and creating a welcoming atmosphere. We have introduced two arched booths with a cosy ambiance and low-level lighting to provide comfortable spaces for informal meetings and relaxation. Additionally, two meeting rooms were designed to accommodate different group sizes, with one room holding up to 12 people and the other up to 6 people. We incorporated soft curves through arches, reeded panelling, and sculpted lighting, creating a harmonious and inviting environment. The colour scheme was carefully chosen to offer a soft aesthetic while subtly nodding to the client’s branding.
A standout feature of the redesign is the bespoke tiered seating area, which serves as a versatile space for presentations, lectures, and discussions. This multi-use area is perfect for informal meetings, hybrid working, small discussions, and large gatherings. The tiered seating not only enhances the functionality of the office but also provides a dynamic and engaging environment for employees to connect and share ideas. This addition underscores our commitment to creating a space that is both practical and inspiring for the CSC team.

The transformed office now showcases a vibrant hive of collaboration, with multiple spaces for both formal and informal meetings. Whiteboards and bulletin boards were strategically placed throughout the office to facilitate the sharing of thoughts, presentations, and ideas. The new environment not only meets the functional needs of the team but also reflects their personalities and the welcoming atmosphere they sought. The feedback from the employees has been overwhelmingly positive, with the new space enhancing productivity and boosting morale. Employees now love the space, and we have secured additional projects at the head office site to replicate certain design elements for other teams.
